Join us to kick off the fourth season of our popular Family Live Arts Cultural Series with Diwali - Festival of Lights!
Come enjoy this interactive celebration of traditional Indian dance, music, arts, food and more featuring local artists. There will be performances of classical Kathak dances of Northern India as well as live percussion music. Swarthmore’s Naatya Seva Academy of outstanding young dancers will also entertain the audience with intricate Bharatanatyam-style dancing of South India.
Children will be invited to make brightly colored crafts to take home, and a delicious sampling of Indian food will be shared, including samosas, naan, and kheer, a creamy rice pudding. We’ll end our celebration with sparklers to light up the night outside on the lawn!
Come celebrate the essence of Diwali — illuminating the joyful circle of life — as we honor the interconnectedness between cultures.
This events is geared toward families with kids 2 - 12 years old. It is a pay-what-you-wish event with a suggested donation of $25 per family or $5 per person.
