Park Avenue Concert: Lake Shore Quartet
In 2023, The Lake Shore Quartet reunited for a performance at Swarthmore’s Park Avenue Concerts. On October 6, the quartet returns with a program of classical gems that will bring two central pieces of the string quartet literature to our community: Mozart’s “The Hunt” quartet and the second quartet by Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn.
The members of the Lake Shore Quartet are favorites of the Park Avenue Concerts series and major figures in chamber music of our country, including Park Avenue Concerts Artistic Director and Juilliard faculty cellist Amy Sue Barston (cello), professor of violin at the University of Illinois Salley Koo, and two members of the Philadelphia Orchestra: Associate Concertmaster Juliette Kang (violin) and Associate Principal Violist Kirsten Johnson.
