Welcome Back to the Park Avenue Chess Club!
This all-ages chess club welcomes all skill levels. Experienced players enjoy teaching beginners. Chess boards and pieces are provided. Players of timed games should bring check clocks.
Mini-lessons conducted by Swarthmore College student volunteers now precede open play on Mondays at 6 PM. Lessons cater to attendees' skills. A schedule will be announced. Beginners and advanced students benefit from collegiate coaching.
For the Fall/Winter, a $25 seasonal fee helps cover expenses. Returning members planning regular attendance benefit from this option. A $5 drop-in fee applies per date for those trying us out.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian who remains onsite.
Chess cultivates concentration, memory, problem-solving and thinking in people of all ages, especially kids. Being in a club also fosters interpersonal skills.

*Pre-registration online is preferred. In-person registration welcome, with the completion of a paper registration form as well as payment via cash, Venmo, or check.
