Rhythm Tap Workshop

In this one hour beginner’s workshop, you will learn the basic steps of tap dance, how to count each step, and how to puzzle it together to create a basic routine. Learning tap rhythm patterns is not only a great workout for your brain, with a few basic patterns you can get a great cardio workout too. Come learn how to make music with your feet!

Additional info: All are welcome. Tap shoes preferred, but not required. You can wear any shoe with solid sole, leather is the best because it slides more easily (like ballroom dance shoes, or men’s dress shoes, for example.) There will be some tap shoes available to borrow, first come first served.

Bara Burden, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, began her dance career at the age of 5. The winner of several Czech Tap Dance Championship titles, she established her own tap dance company, Tappy Dancers, and in 1998 she began a partnership with the US Tap Dance community. For the past twenty years, Bara has been living, teaching and performing tap in the US as a member of Tap Team Two & Company, which has been part of the Philadelphia area dance community for over thirty years.
