This gentle guided stretching session will help improve your overall flexibility, while giving you a nice foundation of stretching basics that you can incorporate into your daily routine. Maintaining and increasing flexibility are essential for healthy aging as well as for injury prevention for athletes.
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat, or towel to lie on when we are on the floor. We will be stretching the whole body, and modifications will be given for all levels of ability, including the use of a chair if getting down to the floor is inaccessible.
Jennifer Chipman Bloom- began her ballet training at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. She then attended The School of American Ballet, where Jerome Robbins chose her to originate a principle role in his ballet 2&3 Part Inventions. At 16 she was asked to join the New York City Ballet, where she danced works by Balanchine, Robbins and Christopher Wheeldon. She has taught at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Point Park College, Broadway Dance Center, Bryn Mawr College, and Swarthmore College.
