Intro to Argentine Tango

  • Park Avenue Community Center 129 Park Avenue Swarthmore, PA, 19081 United States (map)

Get a taste of the dance born of the desire for an embrace and connection! Argentine Tango is an improvised street dance with a style and feel all its own. Tango can speak to the heart without uttering a word and basic steps can lead you to nights spent dancing.

Learn some tango basics, a little history, and a lot more while having fun! Wear shoes that can slide and pivot on a wooden floor. An old pair of socks pulled over a shoe can work too. Beginners welcome, bring a partner or come solo!

Lori Coyle has been dancing and teaching Argentine Tango for over 20 years. Love of motion began on a motorcycle circa age eight. Love of words put her in front of the English classroom. Love of Argentine Tango came on strong and sudden, in all its word free movement beauty. As a teacher Lori works to make the invisible visible, giving words to a language of movement that is part engineering and part magic.
