Join us for an in-depth discussion with Andrew Hauze, the conductor of Swarthmore College’s Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, as well as music director and conductor of the Delaware County Youth Orchestra.
Hauze is currently editing George Gershwin’s Song-Book for the Gershwin Critical Edition. He has often performed as a piano soloist and improvising organist, and was the music director of two multimedia programs featuring the music of Stravinsky, Copland, and Britten in collaboration with Orchestra 2001.
Hauze has frequently collaborated as a guest pianist and conductor with Astral Artists, conducting works by Mozart, Knussen, and Golijov on Astral’s Philadelphia concert series.
He graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in 2007, where he majored in orchestral conducting. Hauze teaches musicianship, conducting, and orchestration at Swarthmore College.
A wine-and-cheese reception follows the discussion.
