Wee Chat (0-12 months)
Ages 0-12 months with caregiver
WEE Chat: Speech & Language Development through Song, Stories & Play! A workshop for parents and caregivers to discover the wonders of infant and toddler communication development. Babies ages newborn – 1 year will engage in songs, stories and play during our time together. Developmental information and strategies also will be provided to caregivers.
Come meet Jenny Oshen, speech and language pathologist, and gather some tips and tricks to expand baby's communication and strengthen your bond with baby.
This summertime workshop is a sneak peak into Jenny's six-week course that features a topic of the day and a featured question (such as: "Do boys develop speech later than girls?" or "Do deaf babies babble?" or "Will a baby hearing more than one language reach speaking milestones later?")
Songs, playful example activities, picture books that relate to the featured topic, and a familiar routine stimulate baby, while the featured topic is discussed for caregivers. Topics covered: Receptive Language; Expressive Language; Speech Sound Development; Sign Language; Engaging with Books; Bilingualism.... she opens the floor to you and all the questions you might have relating to your baby's development and the world around them.
