¡Viajemos! is an immersive journey into the Spanish-speaking world that combines engaging activities that foster cultural appreciation and an introduction to Spanish language.
Spring session will explore visual arts and creativity of Hispanic cultures through activities including painting, sculpting, and dramatic play. Explore los colores, las formas y la composición (colors, shapes, and composition) by painting in the style of Joan Miró, learn how to talk about los rasgos físicos y las emociones (physical traits and emotions) through self-portraits inspired by Frida Kahlo, and sculpt bread dough figurines like the masapán of Ecuador. These and other creative activities will add context to students’ language experiences and invite them to connect their artistic voices with Spanish vocabulary and expressions.
Our After-School program is listed from 4-5:30pm, allowing all students to arrive on foot, by bus or drop off to make it in advance of instruction time between 4:30-5:30pm. Drop off students may arrive anytime after 4pm.
