Welcome spring with this relaxing and informative mini-retreat designed to reduce anxiety and reset the central nervous system to the “rest and refresh” response. Drawing inspiration from the energy healing arts of yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the retreat includes breath awareness, self-massage, and essential oils to prepare the body for restorative shapes (think lots of props) to release held deeply held tension in soft tissues and the mind.
Jane will share acupressure points that balance the left/right brain, reduce anxiety and promote deep relaxation. Participants will receive a handout for home practice featuring poses and 30-day access to a recording of the Acu-Points. Treat yourself to this gift of self-care that lasts long after the retreat ends.
*Space is limited, pre-registration is required
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat.
Jane Barry DePaul, E-RYT, YACEP, started taking yoga classes to deal with the anxiety and stress of a job layoff and dealing with aging parents. That layoff had a silver lining because it gave her time to go to yoga school and she has been teaching since 2013 at local studios and Penn State Brandywine's wellness classes! While she was originally attracted to the increased muscle tone and flexibility of her body, it was the sense of peace and calm that kept her coming back to her mat. Jane enjoys teaching students at all levels, especially those who think they cannot yoga. Her supportive cues, use of props and mindful breathing help students build a practice to face life's challenges with a stronger body, calmer mind and renewed spirit.
