Rotary Arts Project conversation series
Friday, April 21st at 7:30pm, join Rotary Arts Project's moderator Penelope Reed for an engaging discussion with Jeannine Osayande! Jeannine is an anthropologist, choreographer, dancer, and cultural aficionado in Diasporic West African dance and drum traditions. As the founder of Dunya Performing Arts Company, she specializes in Art Integration programming, commissioned choreographic works, and ethnographic research on Swarthmore's Historically Black Neighborhoods. Her mission is to spread values of arts, culture and social change throughout her environment and community.
Penelope Reed is a theater artist, actor, director and educator. She is the artistic director emeritus of Hedgerow Theater as well as a member of the Swarthmore Rotary Club. In partnership with Park Avenue Community Center and The Swarthmorean Newspaper, they present this series of conversations with local artists every 3rd Friday of the month. The last conversation of this series will be held on Friday May 19th with cellist Amy Barston! We look forward to bringing this series back in September.
