This relaxing & informative workshop offers a unique blend of Restorative Yoga and self-care acupressure, drawing inspiration from the energy healing practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM.) The practice includes mindful meditation, self-massage, qigong and somatic movement to prepare the body for relaxing restorative shapes (think lots of props) to encourage a free flow of “life giving force,” known as Qi (pronounced Chee). The acu-points act as windows to the subtle energy body that rise up to the surface.
Jane will be sharing a clinically-based acupressure protocol that help balance the left/right brain and promote deep relaxation. Instruction is provided on how to access the points. Take home a handout with the prop set-up and featured poses and 30-day access to a recording of the of the points by Insight Acupressure teacher/trainer Sue Lovett.

Jane Barry DePaul, E-RYT, YACEP, started taking yoga classes to deal with the anxiety and stress of a job layoff and dealing with aging parents. That layoff had a silver lining because it gave her time to go to yoga school and she has been teaching since 2013 at local studios and Penn State Brandywine's wellness classes! While she was originally attracted to the increased muscle tone and flexibility of her body, it was the sense of peace and calm that kept her coming back to her mat. Jane enjoys teaching students at all levels, especially those who think they cannot yoga. Her supportive cues, use of props and mindful breathing help students build a practice to face life's challenges with a stronger body, calmer mind and renewed spirit.
